More history than you can handle

Richmond’s history doesn’t begin with the Civil War. We were also partially responsible for starting the Revolutionary War (looks at Patrick Henry). Over the past 280+ years, we’ve invented the streetcar, made neoclassical architecture a thing and served as the hometown for the first black woman to charter a bank, the first black man to win a Grand Slam in tennis and the first goth guy to obsess about ravens.
