EAST END

The East End refers to a large group of small neighborhoods like Chimborazo, Montrose Heights, Rocketts Landing, Fulton and even beyond into Henrico County. There’s plenty to discover in these parts, from the Capital Trail to riverboat cruises. If you’re looking for waterfront living with perks, you’ll love the modern condos and walkable restaurants of Rocketts Landing. If you live and breathe for bungalows, Foursquares, Cape Cods and ranches, Fulton is your place. Neither is far from the more urban centers of Shockoe Bottom and Church Hill.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Breweries, because Richmond. Here you get two—Stone Brewing near Rocketts Landing and Triple Crossing in Fulton. Both have spacious taprooms, nice outdoor areas and an ongoing calendar of events that includes concerts, dance parties and food pop-ups.

WHAT’S UNEXPECTED

The Lilly Pad Café, a restaurant/bar at Kingsland Marina, just east of city limits in Varina. This not-so-well-known spot is a favorite of local boaters and people who like buckets of beer. Treat yourself to an Orange Crush and kick back to the sweet sounds of yacht rock.
